“I have no regrets. None at all.
I chose to start out on my journey because I wanted to see you again.
But there was a reason I decided to keep going.
It was a promise I made to myself.
….
Just Keep me in your thoughts.
Remember me, and we’ll see each other again.
No matter what happens to me… even if I vanish from this world…
Promise you’ll remember me.”

Serah had thought that more then likely, those would be her last words.
She had made her peace with her fate not long after leaving Noel’s time. She had scarified her own life for the fate of her world, and she was truly fine with that decision. Why would she need to be brought back? She essentially said her goodbyes to her beloved sister, her words, although sad, were an attempt to give her sister strength to move on… Serah knew all to well how hard death was on Lightning.
Sure, she was still young… Serah had hopes and dreams left unfulfilled. But she had made her own decision.
…Maybe that was why, she was granted a new life. Serah had proven herself in her sacrifice to the gods. Or maybe it was just her curse, fated to be like Yuel for eternity.
Serah’s hand slightly tensed up against the cold pavement of an alley way in Academia. The world she thought she had saved was now torn apart by the Chaos unleashed from Valhalla. Her eyes slowly fluttered open, as she took her first real breath of her new life.
Serah looked rather dazedly at the pavement, before lifting herself to a sitting position, and looking around, rubbing her eyes for a moment sleepily.
How did I get here? [/color] She thought. Serah shakily lifted herself again so that she was standing, stumbling a bit, but her body soon got used to its own weight. More importantly where –is- here?
She took a few steps forward, planning on finding this out on her own, but suddenly she heard something. A familiar voice calling out to her.
“Serah!!!! Kupo Kupo Kupo!” Mog squealed flying quickly as to not lose her.
Serah blinked and turned her head, rather surprised to see her little Moogle good luck charm. “Mog!” she called back and wrapped her arms around him in a hug. Unlike he usually would, Mog didn’t care that Serah was practically squeezing him to death.
“I’m so happy to see you Serah! Kupo!”
Serah nodded in agreeance, and let him go. The Moogle quickly floated up by Serah’s shoulder, the spot where he had usually been before.
“I’m happy to see you too!” Serah looked up at Mog, a smile on her face. “Mog… where are we? I mean… What time? Do you know?”
Mog nodded his large moogle head. “Academia 500AF Kupo.”
Serah paused for a moment…That couldn’t be right.
“Are you sure about that? This place doesn’t look like that… its dark and gloomy….and…”
“Things became like this soon after your vision Kupo. You have been dead to everyone here for a few months now. The world isn’t doing to great, it’s dark and gloomy because the goddess is gone… this is the chaos of Valhalla. Kupo.”
Serah looked a bit in shock. “That isn’t right! The future should have been saved!” she exclaimed. Serah’s hands balled into fists at her sides.
“Where is everyone? Lightning, Noel, Hope…?”
Mog looked down sadly. He knew she’d want to know, but he didn’t want to tell her. “I don’t know Kupo. Lightning never came back… and Hope and Noel are around, as are a few others. I can’t keep track of them all Kupo. I’m sorry Serah, Kupo…”
Serah sighed and shook her head. “It’s alright Mog. We’ll find them.” She smiled. “Will you help me?”
“Of course! Kupo! That is my job after all! Kupo Kupo!”
Serah giggled, and started walking again. They quickly found their way into the more main area of Academia. She could see the Academy now, though it was pretty far off down the path. “Maybe we should head to the Academy? That seems like the easiest place to look first.”
“Good idea kupo”
Serah smiled and walked over to one of the colored elevators, looking around for the switch to change its direction.
