NOTICE: In respect to people picking up dropped characters; In-Game History and Memory of a dropped character is wiped as soon as they are dropped. Meaning any attacks/techniques/relationships they acquired during their time controlled by a particular person will be "forgotten" and they will be given a clean slate. This makes it easier for the player to pick up a canon character and keeps staff from having to archive months worth of posts for them to read up on, which no one wants to do anyway. There may be exceptions for plot-centric characters, but the staff are pretty flexible in that respect. If you wish to keep the memories and actions of a character once owned, please inform an admin.
1.)Imagery: Images posted on the site must not be offensive. The farthest we allow is simple romance: kissing, hugging, etc. Unless it is absolutely necessary, we don't want to see a lot of blood and there is no reason for gore or excess flesh to be exposed. If problems arise with picking a proper picture, the staff will step in to resolve the issue. If you cannot find a suitable image, a picture will be selected by staff for you.
If you feel the need to further press and continue choosing images that offend, then it will be seen as trolling and a ban will be initiated.
2.) Literacy : Spelling isn't required, but it helps make posts easier to understand. Just keep in mind what you would prefer to read. Neat and understandable with all the basics. The smaller your post, the harder it is for others to role-play with you; however, if your post is unnecessarily huge, it will be a chore to read. Please keep this in mind.
3.) Formatting: When role-playing, please write in third person point of view. This means no me's and no I's unless you're character is speaking. Example:
Mickey walked out into the sunshine, blinking his eyes at the light before saying, “Gawsh... Sure is hot today... I hope it rains soon.”
When your character speaks, please use the Voice Color of your choice to highlight speech so it is easy to see, both in your application and on the boards.
In-Character and Application Guidelines:
1.) Character Time Release: When you begin in the forums and sign in for the first time, you have 2 character slots available to you. You can check the Character Listing to see what characters are currently available and pick from them or you can attempt to make your own. Each character must have it's own account so that it will have its own currency and avatar-signature combination, making it easy to identify. After you have been active on the site for one month, with an accepted character and have signed in on time to the Activity Checks, another character slot will open up to you. The next slot will open up two months later, if you sign into the ACs on time and are active. The current maximum is 4 characters per user.
***Canon Considerations*** - Only those Disney and Square Enix characters shown in game will be considered for Canon Consideration. Pixar, Marvel or other companies bought by Disney will not be considered, nor will Studio Ghibli or Square Enix animations not related to the games. Base Disney characters owned by Disney (I.E. Lady and the Tramp) would be considered Canon; but Bought or Borrowed characters (Princess Leah; Zangeif) will not.
2.) Shipping and Relationship Guidelines: The official rule (to avoid drama) is if a relationship cannot be proven with evidence in Canon material; it is not acceptable on the boards. OCxCanon - shipping is not acceptable. There will be no "unmentioned" family relations to canons accepted as Original Characters. This doesn't mean you can't show off your fanart for RikuxOlette (or whoever) in the out of character forums, it just means they can't be together in character on this board.
3.) Personality: If you are taking up a canon character, please try to stay in character in your posts. If you have trouble keeping to a character's personality, it might not be the best choice for you. The Character Profile Template is set up specifically to show that you can do this, so do your best.
4.) Attacks and Battles: When you make your profile you will have a few limitations. They are as follows:
[/li][li]B. Other forms do not count as Attacks, but should be listed in the Attack section of the Character File with the same information as if it were an attack, with durations and cooldowns. This also applies for "Passive Abilities," which would be usable outside combat, but would also not count as one of the eight attacks.
[/li][li]C. The more powerful an attack or form, the longer it's cooldown. There will be very few exceptions to this rule, so try to keep in mind that if you make a cooldown less, you can use an attack more, but it won't be as powerful. Exceptions will be made due to a job/class of a character, but you won't squeak by with more than a couple "job-amped" attacks.
[/li][li]D. When you're fighting in official matches, uniqueness and power will be important, but sometimes being practical will also get you points.
[/li][/ul]
5.) Threading : The site does not limit you on threads you can make in character. However, please be aware of how much of a workload you take on. The second word you need is 'written'. If you don't have the first word, please go back to read the board rules. Unless you have loads of time for writing and muse, making four threads each with three characters will be quite a chore and you may loose interest all together.
Special Note : I'm sure this goes without saying, but unless your character finds out about a plot situation or event in-character, they are not to suddenly have an in-depth knowledge of all things going on at once. This makes it easier for me to talk to individual players about the site plot without worrying about "ruining" it. Please and thank you.
6.) HAVE FUN! : If playing becomes work, then it's not fun. You're more likely to lose interest and muse if you're not having fun, so don't tie yourself down too heavily in a plot; enjoy it and be creative!
